Step 1

Sign up to the free Staff Wellbeing Audit

You’ll have a short call with an education consultant to discuss timelines, provide information about your school and ask any questions you may have. We can then create an account for your school and get started.

Step 2

We collect wellbeing data from your staff in a safe, anonymous way

Our short wellbeing survey will be sent to your staff by email on a date of your choice. The questions were designed by experts to cover the 8 key areas of staff wellbeing and take just 90 seconds for your staff to answer.

Step 3

An Education Consultant will share insights with you and explore next steps

Your Education Consultant will explore your individual results with you, helping you to explore your newly collected data. You’ll now have evidence that you have tracked wellbeing in your school, taken action to improve it, and monitored trends over time.

How our Wellbeing Audit collects data

Pulse Staff Survey Wellbeing Tracker

Survey questions and reminders are sent automatically to your staff. This takes the legwork out of beginning to track and understand wellbeing.

Respondents answer questions that make up the 8 key areas of wellbeing and culture of a school.

Surveys are answered by indicating on an emotive sliding scale how much a respondent agrees or disagrees with the statement.

At the end of the wellbeing audit you will see how staff as a whole, or a breakdown of groups and departments, feel about 8 key areas.

The 8 key areas of Wellbeing Tracker

How they tie into your wellbeing audit

Meaningful work

Staff need to know that their work is having a positive effect on the lives of their students and that they are making a difference. Scores may be low in this area if they feel they that their efforts are having little or no effect.

Appreciation and recognition

Staff feel motivated and engaged when their work and efforts are appreciated and recognised. Recognition builds confidence and self-worth. It is a strong driver of employee engagement and is most effective when it is specific and timely.

Job satisfaction

Staff who are fulfilled in their role and believe they are good at what they do will bring passion and enthusiasm to their work. If staff do not actually like their core role, this may negatively affect their work, however much they like the school, their colleagues, and the environment.

Relationship with manager

Many people believe that an employee's relationship with their manager has the most significant impact on their engagement. A good relationship will inspire staff to do their best work and make them feel good about themselves. A poor relationship can leave staff feeling unappreciated and unsupported.

Relationship with colleagues

Many school staff spend less time with colleagues compared to employees in other sectors, but the support they need is still important and helps when coping with the pressure of work. Colleagues offering support, friendship and guidance can have a huge impact on the experience at work. A poor relationship with colleagues can feel isolating and may lead to stress.

Culture fit

The most engaged staff feel that they fit in well and share the beliefs, mission and values of the school. This alignment gives a feeling of belonging, and staff are likely to be more successful for the school if they are a good culture fit.

Career development

Most staff look for career development and expect to learn new skills and gain more responsibility. Opportunities for development are motivating and are likely to encourage people to continue working at their school. Employees feel frustrated if they don't have the opportunity or encouragement to develop and may leave if they can't progress.

School management

Poor school management is a significant reason for staff churn and can lead to stress if it makes it hard for people to do their jobs. Covering the administration, decision making, efficiency, processes and resources, staff need to know that issues are being dealt with effectively and that the school is consistently trying to improve.
